3) Tailoring your employee value proposition to your current employees is far more sensible than attempting to outbid your competitors on every issue under the sun. You have to make choices, so aim to be strong in areas that your employees will actually appreciate. If you can do this, you will increase your chances of retaining them for longer periods.
4) Where possible, provide choice so that employees can remain with the firm even when their value preferences change. Don't expect everyone to have the same preferences or for their preferences to remain constant over time.
